Pipeline Engineer

Role Overview

Subsea pipeline design and engineering for offshore field development projects. Responsible for rigid pipeline system design from route selection through detailed design, including wall thickness sizing, on-bottom stability, span assessment and installation analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform pipeline route selection and optimization using bathymetric and geotechnical data
  • Conduct wall thickness sizing per DNV-ST-F101 and API 5L requirements
  • Perform on-bottom stability analysis including lateral and axial stability checks
  • Assess free spans and develop remediation strategies for pipeline span correction
  • Prepare pipeline design basis, specifications and design reports
  • Coordinate with flow assurance, structural and installation engineering teams
  • Review vendor data for line pipe, coatings and inline inspection tools
  • Support HAZID/HAZOP and design review sessions for pipeline systems

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil or Ocean Engineering
  • 5+ years of subsea pipeline design experience
  • Proficiency in pipeline design codes: DNV-ST-F101, API 5L, ASME B31.4/B31.8
  • Experience with OFFPIPE, OrcaFlex or equivalent pipeline analysis software
  • Knowledge of HPHT pipeline design and lateral buckling mitigation
  • Familiarity with pipeline coating selection (3LPE, 3LPP, concrete weight coating)
  • Strong analytical and technical report writing skills
  • BOSIET certification required
