Riser Analysis Engineer

Role Overview

Dynamic riser analysis and design for offshore floating production systems. Specializing in steel catenary risers (SCR), lazy-wave and steep-wave flexible risers, and hybrid riser systems. Responsible for global performance analysis, fatigue assessment and interference analysis for deepwater riser systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform global riser analysis using OrcaFlex for coupled vessel-riser systems
• Conduct extreme storm and fatigue analysis for SCR and flexible riser configurations
• Analyze riser interference including clash detection between adjacent risers
• Perform VIV analysis using SHEAR7 and fatigue damage assessment
• Develop riser system design basis and analysis methodology documents
• Model vessel RAOs and mooring line coupling for integrated analysis
• Coordinate with floating system, mooring and subsea layout engineers
• Prepare riser analysis reports and support design review sessions

Requirements

• Master's degree or PhD in Ocean, Mechanical or Structural Engineering
• 8+ years of riser analysis experience for floating production systems
• Expert in OrcaFlex for coupled global riser analysis
• Experience with SHEAR7 for VIV analysis
• Knowledge of DNV-ST-F201, API RP 2RD and DNV-OS-F201 riser codes
• Experience with SCR, lazy-wave and hybrid riser configurations
• Deepwater riser experience (>1000m) preferred
• BOSIET certification required
