Umbilical Package Engineer

Role Overview

Subsea umbilical system design and package management for offshore field developments. Responsible for umbilical specification, cross-section design, qualification management and installation engineering for electro-hydraulic and fibre-optic umbilical systems connecting host facilities to subsea production systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop umbilical specifications per ISO 13628-5 and client requirements
• Design umbilical cross-sections including hydraulic, electrical and fibre-optic components
• Manage umbilical manufacturer qualification including FAT, SIT and extended testing
• Perform umbilical installation analysis including lay vessel spread requirements
• Review and approve manufacturer design documentation and test procedures
• Coordinate with subsea controls, power and communication system engineers
• Prepare technical queries, evaluate vendor proposals and manage procurement
• Support umbilical installation campaign including offshore representation

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Ocean Engineering
• 6+ years of umbilical design and package management experience
• Knowledge of ISO 13628-5 / API 17E umbilical design standards
• Experience with electro-hydraulic and fibre-optic umbilical systems
• Understanding of umbilical component qualification (hoses, cables, armour wires)
• Experience with umbilical FAT/SIT test procedures and acceptance criteria
• Strong vendor management and procurement coordination skills
• BOSIET certification required
