Subsea Pipeline Stress Engineer

Role Overview

Subsea pipeline stress analysis and design verification for offshore pipeline and riser systems. Responsible for comprehensive stress analyses across all design phases from FEED to detailed design, ensuring compliance with DNV, API and client-specific design codes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed pipeline stress analysis using AUTOPIPE, CAESAR II or OFFPIPE
  • Conduct code compliance checks per DNV-ST-F101, ASME B31.4/B31.8 and API RP 1111
  • Analyze pipeline system behaviour under installation, hydrotest and operating conditions
  • Perform expansion analysis including tie-in spool and riser interface calculations
  • Develop stress analysis design basis and methodology documents
  • Coordinate with structural, installation and geotechnical engineers for load inputs
  • Prepare stress analysis reports with clear conclusions and recommendations
  • Support design reviews and respond to technical queries from verification bodies

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil or Ocean Engineering
  • 6+ years of subsea pipeline stress analysis experience
  • Proficiency in AUTOPIPE, CAESAR II and OFFPIPE stress analysis software
  • Strong knowledge of DNV-ST-F101, ASME B31.4, API RP 1111 design codes
  • Experience with pipeline expansion analysis and tie-in design
  • Understanding of geotechnical interaction effects on pipeline stress
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • BOSIET certification required
